Spagetti is WonderFil's 12wt cotton thread for stitching that's meant to be seen. It's made from 3-ply, 100% long staple Egyptian cotton that has been double-gassed, a process that burns off loose fibers for a smoother, lower-lint thread. It's also free of wax and coatings that can build up in your machine. This spool holds 400 meters in Bright Navy (color 53).
The heavier 12wt makes stitches stand out, which is why quilters reach for it for big-stitch hand quilting, bold machine quilting, longarm quilting, and decorative topstitching. Bright Navy shows up crisply on light and medium fabrics, and it's a natural fit for denim-inspired and patriotic quilts.
Use the right needle for a thread this thick. WonderFil recommends a 90/14 or 100/16 topstitch needle for machine sewing, a size 18 needle for longarms, and a #7 embroidery needle for hand stitching. A larger needle eye lets the thread pass smoothly and helps prevent shredding and skipped stitches, so it's worth changing needles before you start.
