Vineyard 108 is a 108-inch wide backing fabric with a tonal, meandering vine design over a watermarked background. The 108-inch width is the practical reason to choose it: a standard 42-inch quilting cotton has to be pieced into two or three panels to back anything larger than a lap quilt, meaning seams to match, extra pressing and a join running down the back. At 108 inches you can back most quilt sizes from a single length with no piecing at all. The design is available in ten colorways.
Because the vine is tonal, it reads as texture rather than as a competing print, which is what you want on a quilt back — enough movement to hide quilting stitches and everyday marks, without a bold pattern fighting the top. The same quality makes it usable on the front, as a background or a large-scale blender, and the width suits home décor projects that a narrower fabric can't cover in one piece: tablecloths, duvet covers and curtain panels. This listing is fabric only: no pattern, batting, thread or notions are included.
