Cloudy is a light gray from Shannon Fabrics’ Cuddle Extra Wide line, a solid minky with a plush 3mm pile. It’s 100% polyester and 90" wide, so you can back many lap and throw quilts in one piece.
Soft and calm, this pale gray is a versatile backing that works with modern, pastel, and bright quilt tops alike. It’s a favorite for nursery and baby quilts, gender-neutral gifts, and modern throws, and it’s a gentle alternative to white that hides lint and everyday wear a little better.
Cuddle is also great for baby blankets and accessories, apparel, pillows, and stuffed animals. If you’re new to minky, a walking foot, a slightly longer stitch, and plenty of clips help keep the layers from shifting. Compare Cloudy with Sterling for a deeper gray and Chrome for a cooler, silvery tone.
