Black Cherry is a near-black burgundy from Shannon Fabrics’ Cuddle Extra Wide line. It’s a solid minky with a plush 3mm pile, made from 100% polyester, and 90" wide, so many quilt backs can be cut in one piece.
So dark it reads almost black, this deep red has a rich, dramatic warmth. It’s a beautiful backing for Christmas and holiday quilts, traditional designs in burgundy and gold, and moody modern throws, and it hides everyday wear well. It also adds sophistication to quilts in plum, cream, and forest green.
Cuddle is also great for pillows, apparel, and cozy throws. Compare Black Cherry with Merlot for a lighter wine and Crimson for a brighter red. When sewing minky, a walking foot and extra clips help keep the layers aligned.
