The Prismatica Quilt Kit is built around the Prismatica pattern from FreeSpirit Fabrics, featuring Giucy Giuce's Hue and Gemini collections. A full color wheel sits at the center of the quilt, surrounded by a pieced palette of basic blocks that step through the spectrum from red and orange to yellow, green, blue, and violet. The finished quilt measures 70" x 70", a generous square size for a sofa throw, a large lap quilt, or a statement wall piece.
Hue is Giucy Giuce's take on the color wheel, designed in bright, bold, primary-leaning colors. Gemini is a two-in-one blender with a light side and a dark side divided by a center stripe. This gives the surrounding blocks built-in contrast without extra fabric changes.
This is an intermediate project. The pattern calls for fussy cutting to feature the color wheel and for precise piecing so the rows of small blocks line up cleanly around the center. Quilters who enjoy color theory and modern design will get a lot out of it.
