Mandarin is a bright orange from Shannon Fabrics’ Cuddle Extra Wide line. It’s a solid minky with a plush 3mm pile, made from 100% polyester, and 90" wide, so many quilt backs can be cut in one piece.
Bold and energetic like a fresh mandarin orange, this vivid shade brings fun to the back of a quilt. It’s a natural fit for Halloween and fall throws, kids’ quilts, and team and school blankets, and it pairs beautifully with navy, black, teal, and white on the front.
Cuddle is also great for stuffed animals like foxes and tigers, pillows, apparel, and cozy throws. Compare Mandarin with Ginger for a warmer, rustier orange. If you’re sewing with minky for the first time, a walking foot and plenty of clips make it easier to handle.
