Replacement "push-in" style L.E.D. light bulb for the Singer Featherweight 221 and 222K as well as many other vintage Singer models. Better = brighter, truer, longer lasting, and will not burn! Available in either the WHITE Light or WARM Light. For those who prefer a light similar to an incandescent bulb, then the Warm light would be the option to choose.
This bulb will fit the following models: Singer 15, 99, 201, 221, 221J, 221K, 222K, 301, 306, 401, 403, 404, and 500. It fits perfectly in the Black and Tan and White Featherweights, too!
Compared to a traditional incandescent sewing machine light bulb, the LED bulb will not get hot enough to burn you. Even after testing one and leaving it on for several hours, it was only very warm to the touch but never got hot enough to burn. We could even grab it to change it out for another bulb!
These LED bulbs are designed to last thousands upon thousands of hours! That said, because they use minimal electricity and have extremely fine wiring, they sometimes can be more susceptible to failure with mini power surges and shorts common in vintage sewing machines.
NOTE: Each bulb has a silicone covering, making it easier for your fingers to grab, so you can insert the new bulb into the socket without having to touch the tiny silicone lights. (Just having small sheets of light diodes would be pretty awkward to hold when pushing and turning for insertion into the socket.)
Due to the silicone covering, a tiny nick of silicone from a fingernail sometimes occurs when removing the bulb from the little packaging (or even when inserting the bulb into the socket). This is common, and it doesn’t hurt the bulb function. If this occurs, the silicone does what it was designed to do by protecting those LEDs. So, go ahead and put the new bulb into your socket and as long as it lights up brightly, go ahead and begin sewing and enjoy your new bright light!
