The Kearing Hot Ironing Ruler is a heat-resistant pressing tool that lets you measure and press in one step. It measures 10" x 2-1/2" and features a patented 30° angled edge plus marked 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4" seam allowance lines, so it's useful for both quilting and garment sewing.
Kearing rates the ruler to withstand temperatures up to 428°F (220°C), with short-term ironing tolerance up to 536°F (280°C). Fold your fabric over the edge to the line you need, then press right on top for crisp, accurate hems, folds, and pleats. A textured, non-slip surface grips the fabric so it stays in place as you press, and the translucent design lets you see the fabric underneath for accurate positioning. Markings are in inches.
It's a handy tool for pressing binding, pocket edges, and turned hems, and the angled edge can help with angled folds and points. The ruler stays hot for a few seconds after ironing, so let it cool briefly before you handle it. It makes a great addition to a pressing station alongside a wool pressing mat.
