Peony Teal is a deep, tonal coordinate from Garden Threads, Shelley Cavanna's companion collection to Garden Dalliance for Benartex. Both lines were designed for the projects in Shelley's book, Garden Dalliance Sampler (C&T Publishing, 2026), where quilt blocks and cross-stitch patterns share the same color story.
The design is a small stitched-look geometric motif printed in a darker teal over a rich teal ground. Since the motif and ground are close in color, the fabric reads almost like a textured solid, which is exactly what you want from a dark blender. It adds depth without fighting with the florals around it.
Use Peony Teal where a quilt needs a dependable dark: sashing, block backgrounds behind lighter appliqué, outer borders or binding. It sits comfortably next to the Garden Dalliance teal prints, Hedgerow Teal, Quadrille Teal and Pressed Petals Teal, and it bridges toward the collection's indigo fabrics as well.
Teal tonals are also practical for bags. Peony Teal makes a good tote exterior, zipper pouch or project bag, where a dark, low-contrast fabric hides everyday wear better than a light one.
