Garden Threads – Quilting Cotton – Peony – Coral

Peony Coral is part of Garden Threads, the coordinating collection Shelley Cavanna designed for Benartex alongside her Garden Dalliance line. The two collections were created together for the projects in Shelley's book, Garden Dalliance Sampler (C&T Publishing, 2026), which pairs quilt blocks with cross-stitch patterns.

The print shows a small, stitched-look geometric motif in white over a soft coral-pink ground, a design that nods to the cross-stitch side of the book. Because the motif is small and close in value to the ground, it reads as a light, textured fabric from a short distance rather than as a busy print.

That makes Peony Coral a practical background or blender for blocks that use the Garden Dalliance coral prints, such as Promenade Coral, Hedgerow Coral and Wisteria Coral. It gives you coral color without competing with the larger florals. It also works for the light patches in half-square triangles, as sashing in a soft sampler, or as the back of a baby quilt.

Outside of quilts, Peony Coral is a sweet choice for pouch linings, napkins and gift bags.
