Linen Green completes the green side of Garden Threads, the coordinating collection Shelley Cavanna designed for Benartex to accompany Garden Dalliance. The ground is an olive yellow-green covered in fine, darker green crosshatching that imitates aida cloth, the evenweave fabric used for cross-stitch.
Green is what makes a floral quilt look like a garden, and a solid-reading green is one of the hardest fabrics to find in a printed collection. Linen Green fills that gap. Use it for leaves and stems in appliqué, sashing between floral blocks, the green points of star blocks, or a binding that frames a quilt built on indigo, coral and berry. It’s a little deeper and more muted than Orange Blossom Grass, so the two give you a bright green and a softer olive-leaning green in the same collection.
The Linen print also has its own project: Shelley’s Garden Dalliance Project Bag pattern from Cora’s Quilts has you cross-stitch a block directly onto it, then sew it into a 10" x 13" bag. Both collections were designed for her book, Garden Dalliance Sampler (C&T Publishing, 2026).
Off the quilt, Linen Green suits potholders, placemats and garden tote linings.
