Garden Dalliance – Wide Back Quilting Fabric – Shadowleaf – Grass – 108"

Shadowleaf Grass is one of four 108" wide backing fabrics in Garden Dalliance, the Shelley Cavanna collection for Benartex inspired by Regency-era English gardens. It brings the collection's grass green to a width made for the back of a quilt.

The practical benefit of a 108" wide back is less piecing. Many quilts that would need two or three lengths of standard-width fabric sewn together can be backed with a single length of wide back, which saves time at the cutting table. Larger quilts may still need a seam, and exact yardage depends on your quilt's size and how much extra your longarm quilter needs around the edges, so measure before you buy.

Shadowleaf Grass coordinates with Hedgerow Grass and Quadrille Grass on the quilt top, and it's a natural match for quilts from Shelley's Garden Dalliance Sampler book (C&T Publishing, 2026), which the collection was designed to accompany.
