Garden Dalliance – Quilting Cotton – Hedgerow – Indigo

Hedgerow Indigo sets the rambling-hedgerow print of Garden Dalliance in the collection's anchoring color. Designer Shelley Cavanna built this Benartex line around rich indigo grounds, using them to hold up botanical color in aqua, coral, berry and grass green.

If you're building a quilt from several Garden Dalliance prints, Hedgerow Indigo is one of the fabrics that keeps the palette grounded. It works well in large background areas of a darker quilt, in the outer border, or as a binding that frames lighter blocks. Pair it with Hedgerow Aqua or Hedgerow Coral for a two-color quilt that uses one design in contrasting colorways.

Shelley's book, Garden Dalliance Sampler (C&T Publishing, 2026), includes quilts titled Indigo Garden, Evening Assembly and Midnight in the Garden, and Cora's Quilts has recolored each of the book's quilts in Garden Dalliance and Garden Threads fabrics.

For a coordinated finish, consider Shadowleaf Indigo or First Impressions Indigo, the collection's indigo 108" wide backs, so the back of the quilt matches the depth of the front.
