Garden Dalliance – Quilting Cotton – Hedgerow – Grass

Hedgerow Grass pairs the collection's hedgerow theme with its grass green colorway. It's part of Garden Dalliance by Shelley Cavanna for Benartex, a collection inspired by the trailing wisteria, rambling hedgerows and cheerful posies of Regency-era English gardens.

Green is the color that makes floral quilts read as gardens. Use Hedgerow Grass where you'd naturally place foliage: leaf appliqué, stems, the outer round of a medallion, or a border that frames berry, coral and aqua blocks. It's one of three Grass fabrics in the collection, alongside Quadrille Grass and the 108" Shadowleaf Grass wide back, which makes coordinating a quilt top and its backing straightforward.

The collection was designed to accompany Shelley's Garden Dalliance Sampler book (C&T Publishing, 2026), with 20 blocks and six quilts plus matching cross-stitch projects. If you're making one of those quilts, a green like this helps balance the collection's deep indigo prints.

Outside of quilting, Hedgerow Grass suits garden-themed table runners, placemats and potholders, and it makes an easy coordinating binding for any of them.
