If spending the day sewing, trying new things, and making a fun project with other quilters sounds like your kind of day, come join us for Piece by Piece!
You will spend the day with BERNINA educator Annette Johnson as she helps you explore sewing, quilting, embroidery and serging techniques on a variety of BERNINA machines. The machines will be set up for you, the project will be broken into manageable steps and there will be plenty of help along the way.
This is not a day of sitting and watching someone else sew. You will be at the machines trying the techniques yourself and seeing how each piece comes together.
By the end of the day, you will have made a finished zippered wristlet pouch with quilting, decorative stitching, embroidery, a vinyl accent and a coordinating strap. It is a useful project that lets you try quite a bit without committing to another unfinished project at home.
During the day, you can try:
- Paper piecing
- Machine embroidery
- Decorative stitching and couching
- Quilting in the embroidery hoop
- Free-motion quilting with the BERNINA Stitch Regulator
- Sewing with vinyl
- Coverstitching
- Zipper installation
- Serger construction
You do not need to own a BERNINA or know how to use every machine. Annette will guide you through each station, answer questions and help you enjoy the process. Machines and project materials are included.
Come with a friend or come on your own. With only 10 people each day, there will be time to visit, ask questions, learn at a comfortable pace, and enjoy sewing together.
