Breakers is a soft, sea-washed colorway from Hoffman Fabrics’ 885 Bali Dot Batiks collection. Tiny dots in sandy taupe, cream, and brown are scattered across a misty blue-gray background, with lighter, cloud-like patches that give the fabric the look of foam on a rocky shore. Like every batik in the line, it’s dyed and batiked by hand in Bali, so each yard has its own natural variation.
It’s 100% cotton and 44/45" wide. The small, allover dot pattern reads almost like a textured blender from a distance, so it works beautifully as a background, as sashing, or as a tonal fill between busier prints. Up close, the hand-dyed dots add depth and movement.
Use Breakers in coastal and lake-house quilts, scrappy batik quilts, and nature-inspired designs, or pair it with navy, sand, sage, and rust batiks for a calm, earthy palette.
