Zest uses manual needle threading. For free-motion techniques, its included darning plate covers the feed dogs rather than lowering them with a drop-feed control.

Compatible walking feet, specialty presser feet, and a machine cover are sold separately and are not included in the standard package.

Zest is eligible for an optional two-year Level 3 Baby Lock Love of Sewing membership, purchased separately. Membership is not included with the machine.
