Evergreen is the green colorway of Aura, QT Fabrics' collection of 108" wide watercolor blenders. The fabric is 100% cotton and printed with mottled color that shifts from lighter greens into deep forest shades, giving it a painterly texture without a set motif.
Green backings are especially useful for Christmas quilts, cabin and lodge quilts, and anything with trees, leaves, or outdoor themes on the front. Evergreen also pairs well with reds, creams, and browns, so it can back a traditional quilt without looking out of place. Because the color shifts across the fabric, quilting stitches blend in instead of standing out.
A 108" wide back cuts down the piecing needed for many quilt backs, so you spend less time seaming and get a smoother finish, and the single wide piece loads easily on a longarm. Leftover pieces make great binding for the same quilt, and larger cuts work as a tablecloth or tree skirt base.
