Stone is an earthy, textured batik from Artisan Batiks: Wild Terrain by Robert Kaufman, a collection inspired by rugged landscapes, forests, rivers, and stone. Rows of dark brown dashes ripple in wavy bands across a mottled background of golden ochre, tan, rust orange, and weathered teal, like layered sediment or a fossil-etched riverbank. It’s 100% combed cotton, 44" wide, and 3.1 oz. per square yard.
With warm and cool tones blended in one fabric, Stone is a versatile bridge between the collection’s blues, greens, and browns. Use it as a textured blender in scrappy quilts, a feature fabric in larger blocks, or a border that ties a nature-inspired palette together. It’s a natural fit for Southwest, lodge, and landscape quilts, as well as masculine throws.
Pair Stone with Canyon for a warm, earthy look, or with Ocean and Marine to pull out its teal tones. It also makes a handsome binding, and the busy texture hides wear on bags, table runners, and placemats.
