Tuesday, February 28, 2023 5:30pm-8:00pm Join Molly to discuss the basics of making a T-Shirt quilt top, from the different types of interfacing, to how to cut the shirts, to final quilt design. You will have the opportunity to work on piecing your own shirts if you wish, or you may join the discussion lecture-style. Recommend materials: Writing utensil and paper for taking notes. Optional materials if you plan to practice piecing during class: • Up to 5 *clean* T-Shirts (we recommend using “throw away” shirts to practice on) • Enough interfacing to cover each shirt (approx. 18” x 20” max per shirt). Most commonly used options are Pellon SF101, SF911, or SF906. These will be available for purchase at Fabric Bash. This is a good time to experiment if you want to try different types of interfacing! • Scraps or yardage to use as sashing between shirts • Sewing Machine • Basic Sewing/Quilting Kit (thread, scissors, rotary cutter, pins, etc.) Irons, cutting mats, and rulers will be available to share if you do not want to bring your own.
